New Guitars, almost!
I play two guitars live, a Fender USA stratocaster and a Fender USA Telecaster, two of the most beautiful guitars that I feel very, very comfortable playing on stage, but they both decided to get very sick, yes they got ill!!
Both suffered the effects of several years of touring around Europe, playing in some of the highest venues in Europe in the alps to some of the Darkest bars in the Darkest parts of Finland!
Guitars being constructed of wood suffer terribly from the effects of temperature changes and humidity, after a couple of unsuccessful attempts at getting them looked at in France I had to wait until we were playing steadily in the UK, and fortunately for me I stumbled across ‘Patrick Eggle’ Guitars http://www.patrickeggleguitars.com/ .
Solution
I remember these guitars from when I was a nipper working at the local music store! Lush guitars, and I am so grateful to have met Rab, he is a true craftsman of guitars, he took one look at both Guitars and gave me a detailed breakdown of what was wrong!
So I went off and purchased new necks for both guitars, both are Rosewood fingerboards, my fav. So Rab got the Telecaster back into action, and it is playing like an absolute Demon! It is a true speed demon this guitar, I love the sound of the Fender Enforcer pickups, they are large!!
After a while of drying the guitars in a specialist room Rab realised that the original neck on the Strat suited the guitar too well to remove, as it has a lush Rollerball Nut on it, so I can still dive bomb! Rab managed to make the repairs to the Maple neck on the strat, he also re worked all of the wiring, I purchased Di Marzio pickups for the strat, and now she sounds like a beast again, but very versatile.
There goes my guitar story!
I am now a happy man!! Rocking out with my lovely guitars. Cheers.
